How Children Help Us Think About God–With Eyes Wide Open

Wednesday, Dec. 2, 6:30–7:25 pm
First Lutheran Church - Friendship Room
Led by Dr. John Christopherson, Senior Pastor

As we are reminded every year at Christmas, the most impressive of festivals, "the mystery of salvation has the nature of a child" (Paul Tillich). This forum will draw upon stories from our cherished children who offer us amazing ways to see with fresh eyes–a more wondrous and meaningful understanding of the Christian faith. The conversation will "take on flesh" (John 1:14) as we bring it together with some basic themes from our Judeo-Christian tradition:

1) The Wonder of God's Creation Through a Child's Eyes.
2) Do We Ever Outgrow Sin?
3) The Honesty of "Doubt as the Ants in the Pants of Faith."
4) The Sacramental Sense of Children as "Living Reminders"
of What Really Matters.
5) The Importance of Touch.
6) The Transforming Power of Words.
